The 2008-09 Navigators dream of professionalizing the field of youth work so that our young people in Indiana are served by the most qualified youth professionals. This team’s efforts focus around the promotion of competent child and youth workers to improve the service to children and youth in Indiana. They do this by:

developing a group of "Competency Ambassadors" who promote and advocate the need for and use of the Indiana Youth Development Core Competencies with indivduals, organizations, and youth development networks; |

aligning professional development and higher education for youth workers around the Indiana Youth Development Core Competencies; and

| • |
continuing to work with Indiana YouthPRO Association to determine the best home for the Indiana Youth Development Credential
